This post is completely unrelated to wedding flowers. Instead its a bit of a brag about one of my dearest friends and her new furniture and homewares label; Auburn & Green.

Brieanna has impeccable taste and a fantastic eye for detail which is what makes this brand so great. You can trust that each piece in her collection is not only one of a kind but carefully searched for and hand picked by Brie. She sources beautifully made textiles and works with experienced craftsman to refurbish and restore each unique piece.

Along with that she has cool and quirky homewares to compliment her pieces. The only problem is choosing a favourite. I’m thinking my next purchase may have to be the Tropical Paradise Cushion.

 

 

Brisbane Wedding Florist | Garden Wedding | Danielle and Frank

This Brisbane wedding is such a cute one. You can tell from the images by Lost In Wishful Thinking that they just had the best day and you could tell from meeting Danielle that she was so excited to marry Frank.

Danielle came to me with a brief for her bridal bouquet of ‘pretty, garden flowers that would suit the soft pink/purple bridesmaids dresses’. I immediately thought of beautiful lavender lace roses. They were combined with snapdragons, lisianthus, chrysanthemums, hypericum, andromeda and some dusty miller. She trusted me to do something that would suit her wedding and her personality and I was so happy with the result and so excited when I saw the pictures to see they just suited Danielle so well. And even better, she really loved them. Plus you cant go wrong with a Blossom & Twine flower crown, right?

The gorgeous sofa in the pictures is from the lovely Moments in Vintage. Seriously with all of that plus the brides blonde curls you really have yourself a winner. And you’ll even see Danielle changes into her Mum’s wedding dress towards the end. Ahh so lovely!

Bridal Bouquets | Poppies| Gold Coast Wedding Florist

I recently had a stall at A Darling Affair on the Gold Coast and my lovely friend Deb from Boots Photography went home with a couple of my bridal bouquets. A couple of days later she sent me a few images of the flowers! I should have known if you give flowers to a photographer you end up with some beautiful shots of your bouquets rather than a dodgy iphone pic in your messy work room. Why didn’t I send them all home with her?! I am now kicking myself. BUT! I am very happy to have these few as one of these bouquets was definitely my favourite. Ahhh poppies. How are you so amazing?!

Flower Crown Photo Shoot | Brisbane Florist

I got a lovely surprise a couple of weekend ago when Brooke Adams asked me to put together a flower crown for a shoot she was doing. Sometimes doing a shoot just for fun produces the best photos and in this case that’s definitely true. Can you believe the model isn’t wearing any makeup?! What a stunner! I love how simple this is. Water, white shirt and flower crown. Amazing.

Coral and Pink Wedding Flowers | Brisbane Wedding Florist

It’s probably no secret that I love tulips. They change colour slightly as the open, they keep growing after they’ve been cut and they are just all round amazing. There is one particular pink double tulip that I especially swoon over and when I first met with Emma to discuss her wedding florals I knew straight away that her and Miss Pink-Double Tulip were meant to be. Of course I couldn’t let the tulips steal the whole show. I had to add in some other coral and pink goodies but still, amongst the beautiful foliages and textures, there popped the double tulips just waiting for some attention.

Quamby Estate, Launceston Tasmania | Wedding Florist

We had some very exciting news this past weekend with one of our weddings featuring on Style me Pretty.

The best part was, the Bride and Groom of this particular wedding were my sister and brother in-law! This could not get any sweeter! Warning, some gushing may be coming.

Kate and Nick’s wedding was without a doubt one of the best days of my life. Kate is not just my only my sister but one of my closest friends.  The wedding was in Launceston, Tasmania (where they live) at St Johns Cathedral and Quamby Estate and Ohhh my, what an absolutely stunning location for a wedding. The lovely and talented Deb from Boots Photography also traveled down and shot the wedding so I might just let the images speak for themselves. Of course, because its my sister I couldn’t possibly post less than a million photos but let me tell you, I cut it down a lot! Deb followed us around the day before as we rehearsed the ceremony and set up the reception. It was absolutely freezing weather the whole time (you can pick the Queenslanders with about 12 layers on) and I was actually quite sick but seeing my sisters face with that huge grin on it all day made me feel all warm and fuzzy so it didn’t matter.

Country Engagement Shoot | Boots Photography | Brisbane Florist

Happy Sunday flower lovers!

Today I have some cute-as-pie images to share from Boots Photography. This little country engagement shoot needed some fresh flowers picked from the garden to complete the pretty picture. Of course posies are never actually picked fresh from the garden, so I happily stepped in with some tulips, paper whites and hot pink asters. The best part was, we didn’t know what dress she was going to wear until she turned up and it just so happened to look beautiful against the colours of the flowers. Perfect!

Purple Wedding Florals | Brisbane Wedding Florist

Well it sure has been an embarrassingly long time since I’ve posted some wedding flowers on here.. or anything at all actually.

Today is the day that changes. And I get my act together. Laziness be gone!

Ok, where do we start? With a super lovely couple and some seriously beautiful flowers to match. Even if I do say so myself.
This wedding is an absolute favourite, probably because of the colours. Don’t get me wrong, I love pinks and apricots and white in wedding florals, but its always so lovely to do something with a little more HELLO! Plus purple was my favourite colour most of my childhood so I have a little soft spot for it.

 

Melanie and Miguel are a lovely couple and Mel just so happens to be my husbands cousin. So again with the soft spot. Ok enough talking, now for some images. I dont have many to show you but you’ll agree by the end that Alcorn Images are just incredible. They photographed the flowers and everything for that matter so beautifully and effortlessly.

*sigh* so pretty.

Topiaries at Beaumont | Brisbane Wedding Florist | Colourful Rustic Bouquet

When Bron asked me to do flowers for her wedding she said ‘i just want something colourful and happy!’ Probably two words most people would use to describe the bride herself. As soon as I hung up the phone I knew exactly how her bouquet was going to look. The bridesmaids wore a bright shade of coral and every nook and cranny of the ceremony was filled with trees and plants so something colourful and natural was in order. Coral and pink with lots of lush green and rustic dodda vine.

The day of Bron and Dave’s wedding was wet, windy and actually quite miserable but the look on their faces the entire day told a completely different story.  There really isn’t much that needs to be said as James Day Weddings captured is so skillfully. And the images of the bridal party out in the rain are just beautiful.

They chose Topiaries in Samford Valley for their reception which was perfect for their relaxed, rustic, country style wedding. Beautiful!
